Papa John’s Supports Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Youth of the Year Program

On September 25, 2019, The Papa John's Foundation served as a platinum sponsor of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America 2019 National Youth of the Year awards, a moving ceremony held at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.

For more than 70 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Youth of the Year program has honored and celebrated the nation’s most inspiring teens and their incredible journeys. The Youth of the Year program, BGCA’s signature effort, aims to foster a new generation of leaders, fully prepared to live and lead in a diverse, global and integrated world economy. These young people inspire others to work for a better day today, tomorrow and in the future. Each year, one exceptional Club member is selected as BGCA’s National Youth of Year winner.

During the ceremony, Boys & Girls Clubs of America named Sabrina C. McFarland from San Francisco's Visitacion Valley Clubhouse as its 2019 National Youth of the Year recipient. As the selected National Youth of the Year, Sabrina was awarded a $100,000 academic scholarship and a year of free pizza provided by Papa John’s.

Later that week, Papa John’s celebrated its national partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of America by ringing the NASDAQ Opening Bell in New York. CEO Rob Lynch and the Papa John’s executive team joined Sabrina McFarland and other Youth of the Year finalists for the occasion.

In 2020, Papa John’s will sponsor the National Youth of the Year ceremony for the second year.
