Volunteers from Papa John’s San Diego Build Hygiene Kits for the Homeless at Crisis House
November 13, 2018
Bettering the communities we serve is core to who we are as a Papa John’s family. Not only do our franchisees work hard to create great-tasting pizza, they give back to help those that are less fortunate.
A recent initiative by a Papa John’s in San Diego did just that. Throughout the month of September, Papa John’s San Diego held a storewide fundraiser, which gave customers the option to donate a dollar to Crisis House, a nonprofit offering programs and support for the homeless population in San Diego, when they placed an order in store or over the phone. The team matched all donations, which were used to purchase supplies for hygiene kits aimed at enhancing the employability, self-esteem and overall health of San Diego’s homeless population.
Before they were distributed, volunteers from a cooperative of 24 locally owned and operated Papa John’s stores came together at Crisis House to build the hygiene kits, which included a selection of vital travel-sized products, including shampoo, a toothbrush and toothpaste, as well as body wash and other items. At the Crisis House shower day on October 10, 2018, these kits were distributed by Crisis House staff to those in need.
The Papa John’s San Diego fundraiser is just one example of the incredible and selfless efforts by our Papa John’s team members, which embody what it means to be better, together. A big thank you to the Papa John’s San Diego team for all of their great work!
