Family has always been important to us, and our long-term dream has been to work together as father and son. While our professional skills lie in different areas – Chris in operations and development and Jonathan in business and marketing – we knew that one day, we would find the right business opportunity to pursue together. After some searching and lots of homework, our dream became a reality when we found Papa John’s in 2017.
Once we signed on to be Papa John’s franchisees, we spent five months searching for the right location for our store. It was important that we be part of a diverse and vibrant community – one where we could contribute and make a difference. We landed on Southfield, a grassroots city in Michigan, and opened our doors on June 19, 2017. Throughout the rest of 2017, we held a pizza night every Tuesday, where our team members brought pizzas and hung out with kids and 20 percent of sales from each night went to a different local school. We also partner with Lawrence Technical University, supplying food at their sporting events and providing discounted orders for their students. Like a family, we put our people first. We recently held fundraisers for two of our drivers’ families in need – donating 100 percent of the sales of all products from the two events to each family. Our happiest moments are when we use our business to do what’s right.
Today, we’re proud to be working for a brand that is striving for better. We chose Papa John’s because their values match our own – commitment to people, involvement in local communities and the quality of their product. As a local business, we want to take care of our people and our community, and we are thankful for the support we have continued to receive to make our dream a reality.
