A branded restaurant that is typically located within an institution or other place of business such as an airport, stadium, or convenience store. Non-Traditional stores typically have a limited menu and do not offer delivery service.
Prospective franchisees should already have direct access to their proposed non-traditional location or venue and directly own, manage or operate the foodservice operations there. For example, a convenience store candidate should already own and operate their proposed convenience store site.
Some non-traditional locations such as convenience stores located in small towns or other stores operating under our Small Town Program may offer delivery services. Other non-traditional locations such as sports venues and airports typically do not provide delivery services.
Typically the menu is limited to 8-inch personal-sized pizzas, side items, and desserts. Certain locations may have a more expanded menu.
The initial franchise fee is $5,000; royalty is 5.0% of net sales; approximately 2.0% of net sales are for marketing-related fees (exact fee rate varies by local market). Development incentives may be available for qualifying locations.
Yes, please complete and submit the site form for your proposed project.
Proposed convenience store sites should be new construction or less than five-years-old and include branded gasoline. Recent major remodels may also be considered. Convenience Store Sites must be located in a rural area or small town to qualify for a non-traditional franchise.
The Non-Traditional Small Town Program is available for certain small town communities at a significantly reduced franchise fee structure. Papa John's online ordering platform is required; however, delivery service is optional for these locations. Minimum site square footage is approximately 800 sq. ft.
