Bridge Construction Impacts Triple Crown Series

Revised Courses for Anthem 5K Fitness Classic and Rodes City Run 10K

Louisville, Kentucky (January 22, 2014) - Construction work on the Ohio River Bridges Project will affect the courses for the Anthem 5K Fitness Classic and the Rodes City Run 10K.

The first event in the 3-race series, the Anthem 5K Fitness Classic, has moved its course completely out of the downtown area and will start and finish at the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield headquarters (Eastpoint Business Center - 13550 Triton Park Boulevard).

Below is a map and description of the exciting new 5K course.

Anthem 5K Course Map

The start and finish lines of the 2014 Anthem 5K Fitness Classic will be located in front of the Anthem Building at 13550 Triton Park Blvd. in the Eastpoint Business Center (EBC). The EBC is located off of the Gene Snyder Freeway between Old Henry Road and LaGrange Road. Participants will line up on Eastpoint Parkway and run south and loop through EBC before finishing back at the Anthem Building. Race morning packet pickup and registration will take place in the south parking lot of the Anthem Building.

Go to www.anthem5k.com for details.

The second race in the series, the 34th annual Rodes City Run 10K, will also alter its course, but remain in downtown Louisville. The event will retain most of its current route and actually finish where it starts near 1st and Broadway.

Below is a map and description of the revised 10K course.

Rodes City Run 10K Course Map

Above is a revised course map of the Rodes City Run 10K to be held March 8, 2014. The event is essentially now a point-to-point race, which will start between 2nd & 1st Streets on Broadway, right onto Cherokee Rd., right onto Grinstead Dr., left on Etley Ave., left on Lexington Rd., slight right to E. Liberty St., left on E. Chestnut St. to S. Campbell, right on E. Broadway, Finish same as Start.

Go to www.rodescityrun.com for details.

There are many details which need to be addressed between now and race time. The Louisville Triple Crown of Running Race Committee will release detailed information as it becomes available. The third race in the series, the Papa John's 10 Miler, will continue to use its current course. The 10 Miler will not be affected by the bridge construction since the event is not held in downtown Louisville.

About the Louisville Triple Crown of Running℠
